Continest Defence Industry Days

Continest Technologies Zrt., a developer and manufacturer of foldable containers and container-based infrastructure units, hosted its inaugural Continest Defense Industry Days in Székesfehérvár. The event attracted representatives from the defense industry, manufacturers, and innovators spanning three continents and 17 countries.
During the workshop held at the Continest Factory, attendees were introduced to the latest advancements in Hungary’s defense industry, showcasing collaborative efforts between the Hungarian Defense Forces and Continest. Additionally, discussions centered around Continest’s involvement in NATO initiatives and international humanitarian projects.
The event is set to become a recurring tradition, further enhancing Continest’s global partner network and nurturing connections, while also spotlighting the capabilities of the Hungarian Defense Forces and the Hungarian defense industry to the company’s worldwide partners.
Alongside Continest’s advancements, the organizers facilitated the showcasing of various Hungarian innovators – ranging from family-owned businesses to major manufacturers – who presented their latest innovations to an international professional audience. Among them, LoxoLock from Szentendre unveiled its rapid-access weapon storage devices and weapon identification systems. Gödöllő-based Sero International Kft. introduced its cutting-edge GM6 weapon, already recognized in the British and American markets. Eddie Weideman from South Africa, representing SME Spechmech Hungary Kft., a longstanding partner of Continest, presented a specialized mobile air handling system for containers. Additionally, Baranya-based Magnus Aircraft Zrt., renowned for its composite aircraft, along with drone technology manufacturer BPNE, which focuses on civil and air defense systems, as well as sustainable water purification technology manufacturer Pureco, and Szeged’s Wysio with their simulator systems, all showcased their offerings at the event.
During the official networking day, Dr. András Cser-Palkovics, the mayor of Székesfehérvár, extended a warm welcome to the international professional audience. The event was honored by the presence of Tamás Vargha, a Member of Parliament representing Székesfehérvár, who also serves as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, along with military attachés from various NATO countries.
The partners collaborating in the execution of the two-day event include VIKI (Defense Innovation Research Institute), VEX (Hungarian Defense Export Agency), and BSD (Budapest Security Dialogue).
